RVA provides a critical environmental service to aluminium smelters for a by-product known as salt slag. Aluminium smelting operations mainly utilize rotary furnaces in which aluminium scrap is melted under a bath of molten salt. This process produces a salt slag which must be disposed of. Landfill of salt slag in Europe is illegal. Consequently, smelters need an environmentally-friendly and readily auditable disposal route. RVA provides such a service. RVA is the only plant in France treating salt slag. The company was founded in 1990 and is located near the small village of Les Islettes, 200 km east of Paris. RVA combines quality products and service with responsible environmental management in a process that produces no solid waste.
